Ate That

Support

Ate That helps you log approximate calories by voice. Hold the Action Button, describe what you ate, hold again to submit, and review the result in the app.

For help, bug reports, feedback, or feature requests, contact ops@thalassa.dev.

Getting Started

Open Ate That, sign in with Apple, and complete onboarding. Sign-in secures access to the meal-processing service; no OpenAI API key is required.

Use the microphone button in the app for your first meal, then add Ate That to Control Center and the Action Button for faster logging.

Action Button Setup

Add the Ate That control to Control Center, then choose that control in iPhone Action Button settings. After setup, you can start and submit a recording without opening the Ate That app.

The app shows recording, transcribing, estimating, and saved states through Live Activities and Dynamic Island when available.

Apple Health Export

Apple Health export is optional. Enable it in Ate That Settings if you want saved meals to write estimated calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, and alcohol to Apple Health.

Ate That does not import your general Apple Health history. It may access samples it created to reconcile, replace, or remove them when you sync, edit, or delete a meal.

Common Issues

If a recording does not save, check that the device has network access and that the recording includes a clear meal description.

Empty or unclear recordings are intentionally ignored so Ate That does not invent a meal.

Privacy

Ate That stores your meal history locally on your device. Submitted audio is processed through Ate That's service and sent to OpenAI for transcription, but Ate That does not retain the recording. Account-linked transcripts and structured results are retained until you delete your account.
